WHAT SHOES SHOULD I WEAR?

"What am I feeling?" Armen asks himself before Nan's carry. He is at the Hilltop Coffee Shop at the peak of Munjoy Hill on Congress Street where he meets before each carry to consume his ritualistic bagel with cream cheese. He eats a scone today as they are out of bagels. "I feel fairly neutral," he says. "There’s some anticipation, but I just feel - my body feels - kind of charged and ready to go. And it’s strange - I feel like I should be feeling more, but I don’t," Armen says with a laughing grin. Though Nan says Armen has prepared her well saying, "He has warned me it will be uncomfortable, so I’m expecting to be stiff and sore at the end," she still lacks some pre-carry knowledge. "I’ll admit as it’s gotten closer I’ve been more thinking about how will I stay warm? Will I be too warm or too cold? How will I be comfortable? What shoes should I wear?" she says with a laugh.
