A NEW COMMUNITY
Armen listens closely to Janie. "Even though there’s this very intimate experience in this between us by adding this other element of writing text and by your bringing in new participants, a community is being formed and that community goes out and becomes stronger and other people are told about it and it just builds on itself." She lays to bare the lack of human connection in today's world that may challenge Armen's concept of this new community. Janie deliberates for Armen saying, "I think the challenge for you is perhaps finding participants, because people have to already be seeking this out, these kinds of exercises or they’re going to have to have some need to take the effort to be a part of this." She laughs at the inherent irony in her statement, "You really want to try to reach the people who are the ones who never get up and never maybe spend the time that they should examining that connection, because again, it’s not something that’s valued in our everyday society."
